Annual Box Collection for The Children’s Society, 2019
Our annual collection this year raised £762.80. A huge thank you to all those kind people who keep collecting boxes in their homes or put money in our box in the Surgery. We are also given a generous donation from the ladies who make the cards held in the library/Vesey Room.
The Society helps vulnerable children affected by neglect, poverty or abuse. Many face a bleak future, missing out on the essential nurturing a stable family can give. Thankfully, societies such as ours help to support these children and your money makes a huge contribution to that work.
If anyone would like to begin to collect, by holding a box in their home – it’s surprising how pennies and especially five pence pieces add up! – then I would be very happy to bring a box to you. The number of box-holders is down this year, due to people moving away or, sadly, passing away, so new families willing to help our vital work are much needed.
Thank you to all those kind folk who have supported the Society again this year and, on a personal note, thank you to Lizann who helped me return boxes and to many of you who delivered your box to me – such a help!
